PVC Cold Crack

What is Cold Crack and how to prevent it?

External weather conditions unfortunately affect the PVC window film.

In cold temperatures below 0 degrees the PVC window film becomes "harder and more rigid".
And in warm temperatures above 30 degrees the PVC window film becomes "softer and more flexible". In practice, this means that if the PVC window film is then folded in very low then it is possible that cracks may appear at the folding points (corners).  We recommend that in colder temperatures the folding be done carefully and that less pressure be applied to the folding points to avoid these cracks.

It is true that some products are more resistant to cold temperatures. This is influenced by the standard hardness of PVC window film. This standard hardness is expressed in 3S or 5S. The standard hardness of 5S performs better in cold temperatures because the PVC window film is already softer by itself.
